The Unseen Eye: Photographs from the W.M. Hunt Collection”, George Eastman House: International Museum of Photography and Film

A photograph is light captured – as if by magic.

This is a selection of photographic images that spans the history of photography.

This exhibition has been put together to engage you, to provoke you, to excite you, and most importantly, to delight you.

With a few exceptions, there are no eyes in the pictures from this collection.   They are hidden from the viewer - closed, veiled, hidden - somehow obscured or you may see an abstraction of a face - without eyes.

The best of these photographs are enigmatic, and you are encouraged to let them tell stories that will be uniquely yours.

This is an unusually large exhibition so take your time.  It is laid out like a dream.  If you let yourself respond to a single image, then you will have had a perfect visit.
